Legislative Acts
In the early days of the internet everything was possible and mostly legal. Thankfully regulations have been brought into force which safeguard us from unscrupulous businesses. As a website owner there is a legal framework with which you must comply. The relevent legislation is shown below.
The Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003
Data Protection Act 1998 which is promoted by the Information Commissioners Office
Disability Discrimination Act 1995 (c. 50)
The Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002

Compliance
It is the duty of the individual website owner to ensure that their website complies with the necessary Acts of Parliament above. I will ensure that any work which is undertaken by myself, whether it be a full website or an addition, is compliant with the above legislation.
